Arji Manuelpillai has been performing for as long as he can remember. Beginning his career as a member of The Leano, a folk-rap band, and later becoming the lead vocalist for Oojami, an internationally touring act, he has always relished the energy of performing before a live audience.
His poetry shows are designed to immerse audiences in language, blending rap, storytelling, and poetry into an engaging and participatory celebration of words.
Arji has performed alongside artists such as Ed Sheeran, Raymond Antrobus, Nizlopi, and Michael Rosen, among many others. His performances have taken him to stages across the UK and beyond, including Oulu International Theatre in Finland, Estonia’s International Theatre, Glastonbury Festival, Aldebrugh Poetry festival and many more.
‘Arji Manuelpillai was born to perform poems. If you want to see an audience be held with generosity, humour, politics and grace, then this is the artist you need to book.’
